Gastronomy commits to promoting a sustainable catering industry in Australia.
When we purchase and when we dispose of waste we do so mindful of our local environment and the broader community.
We aim to follow and promote open and transparent practices that reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities, and to help our clients, suppliers and partners to do the same. In practice this means writing menus to seasonal produce and an ongoing process of buying locally and organically where possible, with a balance of imported fair trade products that ensure the farmers and growers in other countries are properly compensated and supported for their labour.
We also consider animal welfare in the production of our food. For example we use free range eggs and poultry, our grass fed beef comes from cattle running in paddocks rather than feedlots.
Outsource All Of This To Us
Is corporate hospitality part of your procurement and sustainability plan? This means you have reams of paper to read, emails, websites and conflicting information to reconcile. A focus on ethical sourcing raises as many questions as it answers:
- Is farmed fish sustainable or not?
- Does sourcing a product with less travel miles result in producers in a third world country missing out on their income?
- Does replacing a high energy consuming appliance with a lower usage appliance increase waste when you throw the old appliance out?
- How do you make these choices and communicate all of this to your stakeholders?
Meanwhile your guests need looking after with the best that Sydney has to offer. Lift your corporate responsibilities and nourish your staff with healthy sustainable food. Cut your costs. Charm your customers with superlative service. Order something gorgeous that ticks all the boxes and leaves the board tickled pink.
Once our functions and events are finished, OzHarvest collect any excess fresh food and deliver it to charities which support the disadvantaged and at risk communities in Sydney.
